Overseer Darryl B. Roberts, Sr.

Courageous. Relevant. Powerful. Anointed. These words barely begin to describe Overseer Darryl Roberts. Having received Christ at just six years old, he embarked on kingdom service early and today stands as a profound voice for the 21st century.

Raised under the spiritual mentorship of his Godfather, Rev. Thomas Niblack, at New Gethsemane Baptist Church in Philadelphia, Overseer Roberts preached his first sermon at age twelve. When Rev. Niblack passed away, the sixteen-year-old Darryl recognized his divine calling and continued his journey at Gospel Temple Baptist Church under Rev. Dr. Daniel T. Black. After years of diligent study and preparation, he was formally licensed to preach on June 12, 2009.

In 2016, with Dr. Black’s blessing, he joined Resurrection Community Church, led by the late Bishop Michael T. Tyson. A year later, in 2017, Bishop Tyson ordained him as Elder, affirming his spiritual maturity and faithfulness.

Overseer Roberts has consistently supported and served alongside prophetic leaders, advancing the Kingdom of God through worship, teaching, and outreach. A gifted musician and vocalist, he also ministers through song and worship arts.

On June 18, 2016, he married Mrs. Simone Roberts, affectionately known in the KBWA family as “Lady Simone” or “First.” They are blessed with two children: Sidney Elizabeth and Darryl Brandon (DJ), forming a family grounded in prayer and mutual encouragement.

In 2024, he founded Kingdom Builders Worship Assembly, a sanctuary of healing and hope focused on leading people into a life-changing encounter with Christ. Overseer Roberts often reminds his congregation:

“We are anointed to build—one soul at a time.”

His guiding scripture, Isaiah 40:31, captures his faith and vision:

"But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength... they shall mount up with wings as eagles... they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint."
